“When I first started doing all of this, I didn’t know anything about herbs. I thought they were only something to be put on your food… Now I know better.” J. Gordon
Jim Gordon heals from kidney cancer that had spread to adrenal gland and lung with herbs.
Jim Gordon was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer back in 2009 that was treated with radiation and chemotherapy. Doctors pronounced him to be cancer free following those treatments, but just three years later a CT scan revealed that he had a peach-sized tumor growing on his kidney.
Jim had surgery to remove the tumor, but a follow up scan revealed that they hadn’t been able to remove it all and the cancer had spread to an adrenal gland and to a small spot on his lung. Doctors wanted to remove the entire kidney and follow that with chemotherapy but Jim said that he needed some time to think this over.
Jim went home and Googled everything he could find about natural cures for cancer and came across information about using herbal remedies. He says that using something natural like herbs appealed to him the most out of all of the information that he had researched. He read the book The Healing Power of Rainforest Herbs: A Guide to Understanding and Using Herbal Medicinals, by Leslie Taylor, ND and says that he found the information amazing.
After reading the book, Jim decided to take the herbs that were listed as being beneficial to those with cancer. He started with Graviola, Cats Claw, Pau d’arco, and Turmeric and then added a few more herbs. He says he didn’t know if taking lots of herbs would harm him but he went ahead anyways since he felt he had nothing to lose.
Jim said it was important to start with only one herb to see if he had a reaction to it, so he took that single herb for a few days. He then switched to another herb and took that for a few days and he continued to check for any reactions to all of the individual herbs. Following that, he started combining the herbs until he was using all seven that he had chosen for his protocol. Jim says that it took him a few weeks of testing before he could start the full protocol.
Jim later worked his way up to taking 3 capsules of each herb per day, (1 capsule of each herb was taken with a large breakfast, lunch and dinner). Herbs can be hard on the stomach so are generally taken at mealtimes.
This is a list of the herbs in Jim’s protocol: Graviola, Cats Claw, Pau d’arco, Anamu, Chanca Piedra, Curcumin, and Artemisinin
- Cat’s Claw
- Pau D Arco
- Chanca Piedra
- Bio-available Curcumin
- Artemisinin (wormwood)– please see my note below regarding dosage suggestions and iron.
- Jim also took a Probiotic Supplement to support his gut health and replenish the good bacteria.
Artemisinin (wormwood)- dosing with artemisinin can be tricky. This is because the intestines have the ability to build up a resistance to absorbing this herb after only 3 days of treatment. In order to avoid this, it is recommended to take the herb for a few days on and then a few days off as this resistance is easily reversible. With this in mind, the tablets can be taken 3 times per day for 3 days, and then stopping treatment for 4 days, and then continue with this on and off again cycle.
For Jim’s protocol, the Artemesinin was taken with a gentle iron supplement. Only 1 capsule of iron should be taken per day as iron can build up in the organs and this can create serious health issues. Those with sufficient iron should not add additional supplementation as cancer cells will still sequester the iron regardless. It should also be noted that taking iron at the exact same time as the Artemisinin will negate its effectiveness, so if you take additional iron you should do it at a later time in the day. Ideally, Artemisinin is taken 1/2 hour before your meal with a small amount of natural fat. You can do this by taking it with a tsp of hemp oil, flax oil, or unrefined coconut oil, but if you have a sensitive stomach you may prefer to take it with your meal. Some people have reported elevated liver enzymes with artemisinin so monitoring for this might be something to consider when taking this supplement. You can read more about artemisinin with this link
Raising the pH- Jim says it is important to raise your pH up to 7 (or neutral). In order to do this, Jim started drinking water with fresh squeezed lemon juice (which is also cleansing for the body), as well as mixing a small amount of sodium bicarbonate into his drinking water. This was 1 cup of water + 1/2 tsp of baking soda. This should be taken away from meal times as it will impede digestion of food. Bedtime and early morning is a good time to do this, but limit yourself to only 1 tsp of sodium bicarbonate per day. You can read more about pH and how to test it with this link.
Eliminating sugar– one should eliminate all refined sugars from their diet because cancer cells use it to fuel their growth and spread. Read more about sugar and cancer.
His results – after taking the herbs and drinking alkaline water, Jim’s 6 months CT scans came back clear. He says that this was one of happiest days of his life. When the cancer was completely gone he reduced his dosage to only one capsule of each herb per day. He adds. “I can’t say that my cocktail of herbs is the best one to use, all I know is it worked for me. It’s important to have your doctor monitor your blood or do CT scans to see if the cancer is spreading or not.”
- Some herbs can lower your blood pressure or have blood thinning properties.
- Do not take these herbs if you are pregnant or nursing.
- It is important to drink lots of pure water when taking herbs. Your body needs a minimum of 50 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight per day in order to flush toxins out of the body and to stay well hydrated.
