Cancer Diet Plans - Cancer Compass an Alternate Route

The following information is based on the work of William Donald Kelley, who first proposed that cancer occurs in a state of autonomic imbalance and that each of the two extremes, whether it is a sympathetic dominant individual or the parasympathetic dominant individual, would be predisposed to contracting certain malignancies based upon that imbalance. Kelley passed his teachings down to Dr Nicholas Gonzalez, who continued Kelley’s work of healing cancer with diet, supplements and detoxing therapies.

The Autonomic Nervous System

The nerves of the autonomic nervous system are composed of two branches: the parasympathetic and the sympathetic, and each regulates a different set of organs and functions within the body.

The two branches also act as a control mechanism for the other, but when one half of the nervous system exerts too much dominance over the other, then some organs begin to function too quickly while others function too slowly, and this creates imbalance and dis-ease within the body.

The sympathetic system- controls the release of hormones from the thyroid, adrenals, and pituitary gland, and it also controls the fight-or-flight response which directs the blood flow away from the organs to the muscles as the body readies itself to fight off danger.

It is a catabolic response, meaning that it is associated with the breaking down of the tissues and the burning up of the nutrients and hormones. When this is the dominant response of the body, the acid levels increase and the nutritional stores are burned up. Some symptoms that a sympathetic dominant individual suffers from include: decreased saliva production along with weak stomach acids which makes for poor digestion and a failure to obtain all available nutrients from your meals. This person also experiences a chronic anxious state which translates into emotional stress, nervousness, anxiety, impatience, emotional outbursts, constipation, increased heart rate, night sweats, muscle tension, adrenal fatigue, increased rates of infection, increased inflammation, and autoimmune diseases when the body begins to attack itself. The sympathetic system can also be overstimulated by the consumption of caffeine, sugar, and with the use of certain medications.

The parasympathetic system – controls the digestion of food and the assimilation of nutrients throughout the body as well as the elimination of waste products. It is an anabolic response that is associated with the general repair and rebuilding processes that normally occurs when the body is in a state of rest.

The parasympathetic dominant individual also has an unbalanced system as these people will generally have much stronger stomach acids and therefore they digest their meals very quickly. This person may have hyperactive bowels that includes occasional diarrhea, is somewhat overweight, has low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and low libido due to lower levels of sexual hormones. This person may also exhibit an overactive gag reflex, mild incontinence, poor quality sleep, headaches, dizziness, decreased metabolism, allergies, asthma, and may suffer from occasional feelings of despair and apathy.

Kelley created individual diet and supplement plans to address these imbalances and found that when individuals began to eat the diet that was appropriate for them, their rate of digestion would normalize and the two systems would begin to work in balance once again.

Interestingly, these two systems also control the acid/alkaline balance as well. This is because the sympathetic nervous system is predominately acidic, while the parasympathetic nervous system is predominately alkaline. When they are working in tandem, they create a balanced pH cellular environment, but when one system is dominant over the other this will create either an overly alkaline or an overly acidic cellular environment, and either will create a diseased state within the body.

When digestion was improved for the sympathetic dominant individuals, the acidic waste levels would drop and this would create pH balance in the body. Additionally, when the parasympathetic individuals began to eat an appropriate diet for their metabolism this would normalize the endocrine glands and balance the hormones.

Kelley devised a self-test to see if a person was sympathetic dominant, parasympathetic dominant, or had a balanced metabolism: this can be administered by swallowing 50 mg of Niacin on an empty stomach (note: this is not niacinamide or the slow release, or the no-flush kind of niacin). This test is effective because the niacin will be broken down quickly by the strong stomach acids of the parasympathetic individuals to produce the flushing and redness, while those with a sympathetic dominant system and slower digestion issues will not have this same result. If within a half an hour of taking the niacin your cheeks are red and your skin feels hot and itchy, then you fall into the parasympathetic dominant category, If you feel slightly warmer and have a better color in your face, then you have a balanced metabolism and can eat a varied diet generally without any issues. If you don’t feel anything from this test, then you may have slower digestion of a sympathetic dominant person with more of a grain-eating/vegetarian metabolism.

The flushing feeling can feel a little uncomfortable but it will go away within 10 minutes to an hour without lasting effects, just continue drinking fluids to clear the niacin from your system.

Sympathetic and parasympathetic dominance

According to Kelley’s research and that of Dr Nicholas Gonzalez, the development of solid tumors would tend to occur in those with an overly dominant sympathetic system (catabolic, overly-acidic cellular environment). These include solid tumors of the breast, lung, stomach, pancreas, colon, liver, thyroid, uterus, cervix , ovary, prostate, testes, as well as all skin cancers.

As discussed above, the sympathetic dominant individuals have less effective stomach acids and therefore they digest their meals very slowly. They also fail to obtain optimal nutrients from those meals because of their poor digestion capabilities. Because this process is so much slower than their counterparts, they do not tolerate red or fatty meats or other foods that slow down their lagging digestion even further as this makes them feel physically unwell. These people tend to thrive on lighter foods that their body can easily digest and assimilate such as fruits, vegetables and grains.

This person should also take their time to chew their food well as this is an important first step in the digestive process. Since their imbalance is overly acidic, they will need a mostly plant-based diet that consists of unlimited amounts of raw and lightly cooked vegetables, juicing fresh vegetables, fruits, green smoothies, a variety of nuts and seeds, unprocessed whole grains, and can include some easily digested proteins such as organic eggs, wild-caught fish, and bone broth a couple of times per week. When this persons digestion normalizes due to the easier diet selections then the two systems will become balanced.

According to the research of Kelley and Gonzalez, the development of immune system cancers would tend to occur in those with an overly dominant parasympathetic system (anabolic, overly-alkaline cellular environment). These cancers include myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, and soft tissue sarcomas.

These people tend to have very strong stomach acids and therefore they will digest their foods very quickly. Thy don’t feel well when they eat a meal that consists of mostly vegetables, fruits, and grains and they generally require some amount of animal proteins in order to feel satisfied and function optimally. Furthermore, since their imbalance is overly-alkaline, they should not use an overly alkaline therapy such as sodium bicarbonate, drinking highly alkaline water, or cesium chloride as these may worsen their situation. People with these types of cancers tend to do better when they follow a diet that is more balanced and can include some clean animal proteins (this can include grass-fed beef, venison, bison, chicken, turkey, eggs, and wild-caught fish). They can eat moderate amounts of healthy fats along with fresh or cooked vegetables, fresh vegetable juices, some fruits, fresh fruit smoothies, along with nuts and seeds. Acceptable meats are preferably free-range, whole, and unprocessed and are listed in the individual diet plans below.
Organic foods are always preferred over those that are raised conventionally with herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and growth hormones.
There are no added sugars on these diet plans as sugar promotes its growth and spread.

Colon cancer- is the direct result from eating the standard American diet that is too high in processed foods, sugar, soda, dairy, and meat, with very little fresh vegetables and fiber. Lymphoma, leukemia, myeloma, and soft tissue sarcomas- are the result of having a damaged immune system, possibly from having a chronic infection such as viral, bacterial, parasitic, or fungal (candida), or from heavy metal toxicity (this can be from having mercury amalgam fillings or from other sources), or it can be due to chronic exposure to pesticides/ herbicides, having a gluten sensitivity or some other type of food intolerance, or from having an unaddressed dental issue (more commonly an infected root canal, or another type of dental or other bodily infection). You will need to clean up the external and internal environments that caused the immune system to overreact in the first place and then deal with any pathogenic issues.

*Lymphomas- are cancers of the lymphocytes.
